I come from the perspective that yoga is a transformative experience that has the power to heal and strengthen both the mind and body. My training is primarily in the Hatha, Yin, and Embody yoga traditions. My classes connect the strength of the body through the core of breath.
My yoga journey began in a hot yoga class in Eugene. As a result, yoga has been a life-altering experience for me. After many years of practicing asana, I discovered breath. It changed my practice. The connection to breath altered my perspective about yoga as I experienced its positive impacts on mental and physical health.
The desire to teach others has always been part of my life. My desire to share it led me to complete a
RYT 200 hour certification. I am continuing to develop my experiences as both teacher and student working with adults and children. Besides teaching yoga to adults I also work with children to help them develop focus and self-awareness through movement and play.
Julie is also wife to a fellow yogi and mother to two “yogis-in-training.”
